ABOUT "Z" NELSON
Head Women’s Only Coach/ Assistant Kids Coach
Coach Z was introduced to Brazilian Jiu Jitsu by her now husband Coach Nate Nelson in 2014. She has a bachelor's degree in sports medicine and worked as a paramedic for 8 years before becoming a coach full time.
Coach Z is a Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. She has had success in tournaments including:
- 2020 IBJJF American Nationals Blue Belt Silver Medalist
- 2021 IBJJF Pan AM Blue Belt Champion
- 2021 IBJJF Austin Summer International Open NoGi Blue Belt champion
- 2022 IBJJF Pan AM Purple Belt Silver Medalist
Coach Z also is the adult instructor for John's Gym Liberty Hill noon time classes as well as the women’s only classes.
